OIID welcomes new faculty member Shirin Ghods, PhD

Dr. Ghods' research interests include the oral microbiome, pathogenesis and inflammation. Her current focus is to elucidate the biological significance of cobalamin in the pathoadaptation of periodontal pathogens such as Porphyromonas gingivalis.
Faculty, staff, students, and postdoctoral fellows from the UofL School of Dentistry Department of Oral Immunology & Infectious Diseases are involved in cross-disciplinary projects to dissect the molecular and cellular basis of the interactions between oral bacteria and their host.
