The University of Louisville today announced its continued appreciation for Owensboro Health, whose recent $25,000 FY26 Community Health Investments Grant supports the UofL School of Dentistry’s Compassionate Care Dental Care Expansion Project. This investment strengthens a long‑standing partnership dedicated to improving access to high‑quality oral healthcare across the Green River region.

Through this collaboration, the UofL School of Dentistry leads clinical operations at the Owensboro Dental Clinic, providing care five days a week and serving approximately 6,000 patients annually, including Medicaid and uninsured individuals who often lack other options for dental treatment. Owensboro Health’s sustained funding has played a critical role in reducing preventable emergency department visits by supporting the Compassionate Care Fund, which offsets costs for the region’s most vulnerable patients.

Partnerships like this are vital to ensuring that individuals and families across our region have access to the care they deserve. Owensboro Health’s leadership and generosity continue to create meaningful, measurable impact.  UofL also partnerships with Owensboro Health in University of Louisville Family Medicine Residency Program continues to serve as a model for patient‑centered, team‑based primary care.
