Dr. Lamont renews Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant

Congratulations to Dr. Richard Lamont for his success in renewal of a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant to study functional microbiomics, inflammation, and pathogenicity.  The five-year renewal funding from the National Institutes of Health will enable Dr. Lamont and his multidisciplinary team to continue their research on the interface between the microbiome and inflammatory processes. The COBRE grant funds a research center that integrates complementary projects by investigators with expertise in microbiome, inflammation and pathogenicity with a focus on understanding host-microbe interactions.  The multidisciplinary program will continue to emphasize training and advancement of junior investigators in partnership with dedicated senior mentors. Findings from the research are expected to contribute to development of novel therapeutics and delivery methods.

Dr. Lamont’s successful renewal of this major grant is an important achievement.  Congratulations!
