The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation recently selected UofL School of Dentistry faculty member Hima Bindu Dukka for the Nevins Teaching and Clinical Research Fellowship. The fellowship was created to address the retention of top periodontal clinical researchers and educators early in their careers. It is awarded to a full-time periodontal educator who has been teaching one to five full-time academic years at a program in the United States. The fellowship is named in honor of Myron Nevins, DDS, a leader in periodontal clinical research.

Dr. Dukka is Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnosis & Oral Health. She also provides patient care as part of UofL Dental Associates.

This is the first time a ULSD faculty member has received the Nevins Fellowship.
