Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery faculty honored by AAOMS

Three University of Louisville School of Dentistry Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department faculty were honored during the 2025 American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Annual Meeting in Washington DC.
Dr. Suzanne Barnes was awarded the coveted Faculty Education Development Award (FEDA), which AAOMS gives to promising young faculty to keep them in academics. The competition for the awards is significant. Dr. Barnes was recognized as a young faculty member with a commitment to education and a promising future.
Dr. George Kushner was awarded the Donald B. Osbon award for outstanding educator in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Robert Flint was the sole delegate representing the state of Kentucky. The House of Delegates is responsible for running the business of AAOMS. These critical meetings ensure the specialty continues to run and all business affairs are in order.
